Razor's "state of the art" fully Computerized Jigging on Solid Steel Roof Truss Lines

Key Benefits

The market demand for increasingly complex trusses is a direct result of the trend in construction, of more complex rooflines and intricate interior ceilings.  With the advent of less skilled carpenters to perform these tasks it has created both an opportunity and challenge for truss manufactures.

From the beginning of Razor Component Systems plant operations, a multi million-dollar commitment was made to address this challenge head on.

Auto-Omni Saw

The first purchase was that of a state-of-the-art computerized robotic saw, known as the (Auto-Omni Saw).  The Omni saw allows an operator to quickly and accurately download directly from the Truss Design department the incredible array of cuts for each truss, virtually eliminating human error. The set-up time for the "five saw heads" are blindly fast and accurate. We were so impressed with this saw we bought another and put them in tandem.

Auto-Omni Computerized Robotic Saw

While this addresses the all-important issue of cutting the “jig saw” pieces to each truss, you still have to accurately assemble them. Razor researched other state-of-the-art jigging systems, including the new Laser systems, (which only projects outlines, no actual jigging), we decided on the computerized mechanical Omni Jigging system; which used the same exact information that the Omni Saws do, thus forming an amazingly accurate and synergistic manufacturing system.

The entire plant computer systems are all connected by fiber-optics.

The market is demanding ever-higher quality, faster deliveries and competitive prices.  Razor’s commitment to automation is "part of the story" as how Razor is winning that battle and giving it a competitive advantage......

Key Points on Razor's Advantage in Roof Truss manufacture.

  • Incredibly accurate saw and truss set-ups, downloaded direct from Design Departments Computers.

  • Full 24 inch diameter steel rollers resulting in "more flat surface" on pressing plates on.

  • Additional 24 inch "finish" diameter steel rollers "pressing every truss again" as it exits line.

  • All solid 1 inch steel table tops on all roof lines, including several others not shown.

  • All high intensity industrial lighting designed by G.E. resulting in superior Quality & safety.

Point on Pricing Advantage

  • The combination of the fast set-up times, high volume of Omni saws and tables, with subsequent high quality of the finished truss is part of the story that gives Razor a real competitive advantage.
